Q: What makes Clarity House massages really different?
A: You can book for longer, much longer.
We offer 90 Minute sessions which allow for usually about 75 minute hands on time. Your appointment usually includes time to get undressed, time to get on the bed, time to get off the bed and time to get dressed. We aim for a minimum 75 minutes hands-on contact time when you book a 90 minute massage session. We think that a 90 minute appointment for around £50 is very competitive and will make sure you get the best massage experience.
Please note a 60 minute massage appointment does not mean you will get 60 Minutes hands on time, our 60 minute massages offers about 45 minutes hands on time.
What's Your Favourite Massage?
Classic Swedish Massage - Comfortable and Soothing Strokes Great for Detox
The original massage. In Sweden, this is known simply as a 'classic massage'; and that's exactly what it is - a classic treatment involving five main techniques - stroking & gliding, kneading, rubbing, tapping or "pounding", and vibration – that take into account the bonier and more delicate parts of the body where softer strokes are used, and areas of thicker muscle where stronger strokes are applied. This sensitivity to the different needs of your body make it ideal for relaxation. Swedish Massage is designed to improve your circulation (by increasing oxygen flow in the blood), soothe your muscles and make you more relaxed. Alongside these calming benefits, it can also ease muscular strain by flushing out toxins, help to keep joint flexible (ligaments & tendons supple), stimulate the nervous system, improve muscle tone and reduce emotional & physical stress. Bring you to bliss: Your massage therapist will guide you to a state of relaxation by blending light and deep strokes of varying depth and pressure to enhance your body's natural functioning. Long gliding strokes, gentle kneading, and active/passive movements of the muscles work to reduce tension, alleviate muscle soreness, and improve your overall energy. Your therapist will help you to select the correct aromatic essential oil blend to help balance your specific mind/body needs.
Bowen & Myofascial Release Massages - Top choices when dealing with aches and pains
Clients simply rave about the positive effects of these Massage techniques? Myofascial Release Therapy and Bowen Technique, like many alternative therapies, promotes the philosophy that the mind and body work together to maintain health. Effectively this supports the understanding that the mind and body are one and the same. The body has the ability to remember postural positions, actions and emotions without the brain reminding it to do so. Throughout the body's fascial system flow microscopic cells containing energy which have the ability to retain memory. Continuing exploration into understanding the human body and effective treatments for physical and emotional pain or discomfort, now recognises Myofascial Release and Bowen as contemporary, long-lasting solutions. Through gentle touch techniques unique to Myofascial Release and Bowen, the body begins to unwind as the fascial system (the body's shock absorbsion system) releases any unnatural tension. Clarity House clients have reported lasting relief to a great range of ailments including: Chronic Pain, Back-ache & pelvic imbalance, Neck & shoulder pain or tension, Headaches, Sciatica, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Whiplash, Sporting injuries like Tennis & Golfer's elbow, Menstrual discomfort, Dizziness & vertigo, IBS, Fibromyalgia & ME/CFS, Jaw discomfort or teeth grinding & clenching, Plantar fasciitis & heel spurs, and many other sources of aches and pains. Let your body unwind: the special Bowen and Myofascial Release techniques help ease the tension and twists running through the body, allowing the return of structural integrity by the body's inbuilt self-correcting process. Some clients feel their body becoming lighter or may experience twitching during treatment, as the body realigns itself. After this treatment previous clients have felt an increase in energy, restored muscular function & postural alignment, Relieved physical & emotional strain, Balanced body, mind & soul, and have said that relaxation & self-healing have been encouraged.

Aromatherapy Massage - A sensual relaxing or uplifting experience
Essential oils have been highly valued for centuries and used in healing practices, ancient rituals, perfumes, spiritual offerings & sacred products; their fragrances can be stimulating or soothing, cleansing or cocooning. Traditionally used in a variety of ways, some essential oils can be safely absorbed through direct application to the skin. Modern wisdom/knowledge shows that your sense of smell sends messages to a part of the brain called the limbic system, which controls your emotions and influences your nervous system & hormones. If you breathe deeply when surrounded with the scent of pure essential oils, messages are transmitted to the limbic system and can positively affect heart rate, stress level, blood pressure, breathing, memory, digestion, and the immune system. Aromatherapy Massage is particularly suited to relieving stress or easing emotionally-related conditions, such as: Symptoms of stress & stress-related insomnia, Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), Headaches, Digestive disorders and even Back pain. Select your scent: Each essential oil has different healing properties. At Clarity House, we have carefully selected the highest quality blends of essential oils, to offer a range perfectly suited to the massage and experience you need. Choose from oils that calm & soothe you or energise & uplift you; we also offer an extensive range of blends suited for Pre- or Post- Sports, and deeper massage.

Reflexology - Massage for your Feet
This foot spoiling treatment can leave you and your feet feeling in a state of pure relaxation. Reflexology provides relaxation whilst your therapist uses their knowledge to work on specific areas of the body through your feet taking the stress out of your hectic life style and putting that spring back in to your step. The earliest recording of a therapy in the form that we now know as Reflexology was founded in the Tomb of Akmathor dated 2330 BC. It depicts murals and hieroglyphics in which hand and foot reflexology is being administered. Reflexology is a very precise form of massage used on certain reflex points of the feet and hands, which uses the thumbs and fingers. During a Reflexology treatment, all the reflexes in both feet will be massaged stimulating at least 7000 nerve endings, thus sending signals along the central nervous system where they are processed and filtered to the corresponding part of the body or organ being worked on, therefore treating the whole body (from the Greek meaning holos = whole). By clearing the nerve pathways of congestion it may help restore the free flow of energy circulation within and around the body. This realigns mind, body and spirit to a state of well-being and harmony.

Hot Stone Massage - The Art of Ancient Healing Heat
In need of some TLC? Hot Stones massage therapy has been used in many different cultures throughout time. Healers used carefully selected rocks from the river beds, and warmed them either in hot coals or hot water. In its modern form, Hot Stones therapy can help in the treatment of muscular aches, pains & strains, rheumatic & arthritic conditions, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, back pain and insomnia. It also improves circulation and can assist in reducing stress, anxiety, tension and depression. Treat yourself: the soothing hot stones (placed on cloth) are arranged along the energy centres of the body where they start relaxing the muscles and reducing pain, boosting your body's natural healing process. The placement of stones allows the accompanying massage to be more intense as their heat penetrates the body to more deeply relax the muscles. In certain cases cold stones can be used to help muscular injury and inflammation. Warm stones expand the blood vessels, helping to move blood faster round the body, and the alternate application of cold stones can then stimulate the nervous system by causing the blood vessels to contract, boosting the body's recovery.
